Conditional Sentence Type II


 

Conditional Sentence Type II is also called Present Unreal Condition.
It shows that the conditional sentence is different with the reality in the present.
Patterns:

IF + SIMPLE PRESENT, PRESENT FUTURE
IF + S + V1, S + WILL + INFINITIVE

If Jane were here, the party would not be boring.


It means that Jane is not here so the party is boring.

We could go on a trip if we had enough breaks.
It means that we can't go on a trip because we get a little time to break.
